The main objective of TCU-IRC is to ensure provision of quality, reliable and up-to-date information on Higher Education, Management and Governance to internal and external stakeholders to enable them make informed decisions, as well as increasing visibility and accessibility of TCU Intellectual assets at national, Regional and global level.

 Specifically, the TCU-IRC focuses on the following:

1. To maintain a physical presence of Information Resource Centre with necessary facilities.
2. To collect and maintain a comprehensive and relevant high breed collection of information resources on Higher Education Management and Governance; and provide a stable and supportive environment that enable Higher Education stakeholders to access the needed information in both ways printed and electronic source
3. To create a flexible storage, access and delivery of information to meet the creative needs of the HE stakeholders
4. To provide high quality modern information and services that will inform TCU, University Institutions and Higher Education stakeholders for better decision
5. To promote and strengthen co-operation, networking, and resource sharing among Higher Education – Information Resource Centres in Tanzania
